Palm-Tree Trimmers and Other Tree Monkeys

The boys and I thought it was entertaining to watch this guy trim the palm tree. He’s pretty high up there!

And then we took advantage of the cooler November weather and played in the yard.

Thanksgiving Weekend part four

While I was at a meeting, everyone else went to see the Mesa Temple lights. Dad Carr took these pictures.

Thanksgiving Weekend part three

Of course we had to hike to Hole in the Rock again. It has a great view and it’s right next to the zoo! Dad’s camera could zoom in to capture the building where Jason works! Pretty impressive.

Riding the train at the zoo:

Thanksgiving Day

Boys and their toys:

Love it! Apron on and a girly website to boot. We don’t judge.

Fabulous Fall outfits:

Yes, that’s Daddy’s!:

Meal prep:

Sorry Dad, this one’s too great not to post! Next time, just smile :)

That’s better!

Bring on the FOOD!

Homemade crescent rolls and apple, pumpkin and pecan pies, yum!

Satisfied.

Thanksgiving Weekend part one

Remember, when the Carrs come to visit, we take a lot of pictures. Thus this will be a four-fold post so that I can get all those great family pictures in. So consider yourself warned.

On Thanksgiving weekend 2011, Jason’s parents brought oodles of boxes of his old stuff that has been sitting around at their house. I am certain that if I ever had half the amount of stuff he had growing up, it was passed down from sibling to sibling and eventually worn out, thrown away or given away. These boxes were to sit in my entryway and dining room for another 6 months, by the way and thank you very much ;) Now they are partially gone through and the leftovers (which are many) are packed away in our garage for future going through).

Shabby Chicks Backyard Boutique

The week after James and Grace’s wedding (while Sarah was still visiting), I participated in a backyard boutique. It was a lot of fun to hang out with the ladies at this boutique knowing my kids were in good hands. My friend Bonnie got the Square and we were able to charge people’s credit cards on her iPad. Very cool. The part that made it difficult at times was dealing with 8 people trying to sell at our table. Communication is work! But everyone brought great products and most everyone sold something. Some were more profitable than others. I was about break even and that was fine with me. Hopefully we’ll do it again this year!

I sold baby burp cloths. So babies can spit up in style.

Sarah’s Visit

Sarah stayed with us for about a week after everyone else left. One day we hiked Hole in the Rock and then headed to none other than the Phx Zoo, of course.

Petting the sting rays!

Sarah and her flamingos…

Funny thing. I dressed the boys in red thinking that would help them stand out in the crowd at the playground. We arrived to find that somebody else had the same idea and a group of 20 or so kids were also wearing red. So much for that plan!

James & Grace’s AZ Reception

It all happened in one day, the family breakfast, the wedding, and the reception.

I loved these floating mason jar lights. (They weren’t actually floating, they were in a tree. Were you intrigued?)

The cake.

The dance.

Aaahhhhh, cute.

Grace surely wasn’t expecting dance lessons, but that is what you get from this guy :)

Another aaahhhhh.

And cute again.

Something in this picture doesn’t belong. Colton (Tim & Kelsey’s)-Jason (mine)-Robbie (Jenna’s)

I missed the bubble send-off as a certain 3-year-old really needed to use the bathroom for the second time right THEN. I’m sure it was lovely.

James & Grace Got Married!

I know, I am still way behind on this blog. And for some reason I still feel like updating you on EVERYTHING because <sarcasm> our lives are so interesting. </sarcasm>

November was a crazy month for me. Let me begin to tell you why…

So here we are back on 11.11.11, a very special day for my brother James and his lovely wife Grace. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. That meant that most of the family got to come out to AZ! Adam, Kathy and Tommy stayed in Ohio since they couldn’t miss school. Daniel and Stephen are on missions. So we’re actually missing 5 kids. Can you tell?

Photos by Dad Carr and myself, and anyone else who happened to pick up the camera. (It’s always good to have the Carrs at these Headrick shin digs!)

Just Married!

Does my lapel offend you?
